solar power products

Nature has provided man with an abundance of energy resources. These resources include everything ranging from water and sunlight to wood and oil, and can be categorised as renewable and non-renewable energy resources. Renewable sources include the energy derived from the sun, water and wind
Today the most widely used energy source, and the one that shows most potential is solar energy. Solar energy has been long used in its direct form to dry food, clothes and to cook food. However with the energy crunch we are facing, we now need to use solar energy to generate other types of energy including electricity so that we can meet our increasing energy demands. In order to do so, we need to use products designed to harness solar energy.
Solar power products have been in the market for a long time, ranging from home solar power products to solar products for large scale consumption like street lighting. However irrespective of what size the solar power product is or what its use is, the basic principle behind it is the same - there are solar panels which either act as collectors to absorb thermal energy, or are connected to batteries and convertors to convert solar energy into electricity.
Solar power products that are used at home include solar heaters which focus thermal energy got from the sun. These solar heaters can be fitted on the roof and be used to heat water for the home and even the pool, or they can be used to heat air and spaces, cutting down the cost of electric heating. Solar heaters are very useful for homes, hospitals and even large office complexes. Solar heaters make use of solar collectors, the size and number of which will influence the amount of heat produced.
Another solar power product that can be used in the house is a solar cooker. Solar cookers are boxes that are lined with solar panels and reflective materials which focus the heat from the sun. To cook food you just have to put the pot of food in the box and place it in the sun. Solar cookers can reach temperatures of up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and have proven extremely useful in developing countries for boiling water and milk to prevent contamination.
Solar power products also include solar lighting which can be fitted around the house, outside in the garden and even for use as street lights. Solar power products for lighting are fixed with batteries, chargers, solar panels and converters which all work together to produce electricity. These are very effective and extremely environmentally friendly.
