Suicide – The Psyche behind it

Suicide is defined as “killing one’s own self”. Ending one’s own life is called suicide. There are over 1 million people committing suicide every year, as per the World Health Organization. Over 30 million people attempt suicide every year.

Why would someone like to end his or her own life?
Suicide has many causes like depression, financial insecurity, shame, embarrassment, inability, guilt, desperation, anxiety, or cult suicide. Generally suicidal tendency is a matter of lack of tolerance. People who have lesser tolerance tend to run away from problems and attempt to shut their eyes for ever. It’s like an ostrich policy. Everybody has problems in life; every problem has a solution too. Instead of finding the solution, people tend to escape the problem. Do all failures commit suicide? No, only those who think they are always going to be losers do.

There is another clan of people who love to kill themselves for a larger objective. Their suicides are called cult suicide. Self emollition is a common practice to protest against something, usually government policies or a biased law. There is another form of suicide which is very common these days and that is “Suicide Bombing”. Terrorist leaders are so influential amongst their cult and tribe that they can convince youngsters in becoming human bombs. A human bomb is a person who wraps a jacket loaded with bombs around and blows oneself up in a mob or a crowd. The person along with himself or herself takes lives of several other innocent people. These human bombs are usually brainwashed by their religious or political leaders in the name of freedom or religion. But what these human bombs do not understand is that these leaders push them forward to achieve their own false objectives. Anyways, this is an issue which can take volumes to discuss.

Suicide is actually an instinct. Some people have anyways a suicidal tendency without any reason. Some people attempt suicide to gain attention. These people are maniacs and suffer from inferiority complex. They have a tendency to copy what they see in movies. Some others like to put their near and dears into trouble. But every cause of a suicide is an instinct which usually strikes a person for sometime. A person committing suicide is in a trance when he does that. If this period of trance passes by and he fails to commit, then probably he would never try it again. Cult suicides of course is a result of a different mind game altogether. It involves a lot of convincing and brainwash before it can be attempted.

To conclude, before you think of committing suicide, think about the loss that you are going to do to your near and dear ones. Think if you get reincarnated, aren’t you going to face the same problems that you are running away from? Be bold and face the problems. Think that if suicide was the only way to come out of a problem, the world would have been free of poverty.
