I wish I was Illiterate

The Great Mughal King of India, Akbar was illiterate, but he ruled over a vast empire for 50 years. Akbar did not know how to write or read a single letter. He still was known to be great because of his intelligence and for his fair decisions. He brought glory to the Indian land and during his reign, economy prospered. Art and culture flourished during the medieval era in India when Akbar was the king.

We all know that education is the utmost requirement if we want to do well in our careers. More educated you are, more chances of you getting the top spot. But I think in another way.

Sometimes, education kills the innocence in us. The hunger for power and status makes us selfish and greedy. Our parents spend so much money in educating us but what do we start lacking is in our values. Illiterates know that they will not be able to climb the ladder hence they do not posses greed and selfishness. Once we get more educated, we are expected to do professional miracles. People who can’t read or write are satisfied with the small work that they do. They do not have pressure of their people to earn more money and they do have the wish to lead a luxurious life. Hence they are simple minded and kind hearted. In fact, the more educated ones exploit them. Today I need to call a sweeper to clean my washroom because it is against my standards. But if I were illiterate, I would not have had this inhibition. It is education that has given us the power to distinguish between two jobs. If we were not educated we would have accepted to do any job. We could have also become emperors if we were uneducated.

The moral is, whether you are educated or not, the inner you should be clean and innocent. You should always be a good human being. Try to put yourself in the shoes of the sufferers and act accordingly. Identify the Akbar in you. You will feel happy.
