The Hollywood Foreign Press Association calls on the elite of Hollywood every year in January to join the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the glamorous gala and banquet, where the best of the best are to be crowned for their extraordinary achievements in the past year. The motion picture and television industry readily answers the call and the rich and the famous, the celebrities and the executives gather at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the first big event of the year, the Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony and the associated red carpet entrance, banquet and after parties.The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards were no different than in the years before, a plethora of stars and industry bigwigs has shown up to support fellow thespians and production colleagues nominated for the awards and they all enjoyed an eventful evening full of surprises and friendly elbow rubbing. But for the most people, including the paparazzi, the pre show is the actual fun, where seemingly everything can happen. Ever since Isaac Mizrahi fondled Scarlett Johansson on the red carpet and during the interview a few years back, creating one of the biggest scandals in Golden Globe broadcast history, the interest for the pre show has increased many times. It is not surprising to find out that many more channels are transmitting the pre show to the Golden Globes than the actual event. The E! Entertainment Television Network has the pre show and the after show coverage, but the actual Globes ceremony is not being transmitted. One of the most fun elements of the pre show is the best and worst dressed evaluation. Many fashion experts, including some prominent fashion designers, have been employed by various corresponding TV networks, in order to give their view of the celebrity attires. It was expected and it happened that the opinions differed on single creations, but the overall perception was that the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards were better than the most, because the vast majority of the attending people were impeccably clothed.Defining who the best dressed male was would be quite a feat, because almost everyone was wearing a first class tuxedo for the night, the pick would have to go to personal preference rather than an extraordinary creation. With all the actresses wearing outstanding or outrageous creations, there is not really a single coincidence where critics picked the single best dressed star and agreed. Mentioned were Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Beckinsale, among others. The difference of opinion was best viewed on Renee Zellweger and Beyonce, where critics really could not make up their minds either way.
