Breast milk

As the name suggests, breast milk is produced and supported by the areas of the gland named Breast. Breast milk is produced in small groups of cells known as "alveoli". However, often what most women fear is that the size of their breast will cause differences in the proportion of the breast milk production. This is not true. Breast milk production has nothing to do with the size. As a woman gets pregnant, the breast will enlarge and breastfeeding begins.
An amazing think to wonder about, is how babies catch hold of the nipples. Well, once a woman is pregnant her nipples enlarge and get dark in color. This color is easily caught by the baby and that's how they suck on them for their baby food. Many are aware that for babies, breast milk is considered as the best source of food. In fact in the first few months, breast milk is the only source of food. Hence, at this time, special care needs to be taken by the mother, with respect to her sleep and diet.
Breast milk is an extremely nutritious component for the baby's development. The protein that is contained in the breast milk is good for the brain and eye development of the baby. Fats in the breast milk are rich in calories, which is a necessary component for the development of the baby. Breast milk consists of those substances that improve the absorption of vitamins and minerals. These vitamins and minerals are very important for development of the brain. The most significant help that a baby derives from breast milk is their ability to fight against several diseases. Breast milk is rich in white blood cells and this leads to enhancement of the baby's immune system. The enzymes and hormones found in the breast milk are essential for the baby's overall growth.
The most amazing wonder of breast milk is that it protects your baby from obesity. Babies who are fed for long duration also have chances of having healthier teeth as compared to those who are fed for a short duration. It has also been researched that babies who are fed for 9 months or more, grow up as being more intelligent as compared to others. But, one must not forget that the lifestyle that a women has, strongly affects the breast milk production and nutrition content. A women needs to take good care of herself for her baby to get a good nutritious portion of milk. There are some most common and important factors that lead to problems in the breast milk production. These include the diet nutrition of the mother, portion of fluid intake, drugs, alcohol, medicines and many more.
