Spa

The word “spa” is originated from a small town in Belgium called “Spa” which means moist or damp. It is usually referred to water treatments used to sooth body and mind. Spa is defined as place that is meant for providing and rejuvenating the mental and physical fitness of health by following certain water treatments.

Spa was just defined as a bathing practice followed in olden days by Greeks, Egypts and Romans. These days spas having become centres for providing relaxation and health to both body and mind more than following traditional bathing practices.

The different types of spa with a brief explanation of each of them could be listed as below:
· Day Spa: This is related to beauty and this spa offers massages, body wraps and polishes for revitalising the skin, this helps in regeneration of good skin and making you look good.
· Green Eco Spas: This spa uses natural products in their treatments and therapies.
· Club Spa: This spa offers fitness and wellbeing with the help of professionals to train you on a daily basis.
· Hydro Spa: This type of spa uses hydrotherapy and aromatherapy treatments to relax your body and mind. A combination of both warm and cold water is used in this treatment to help relieve your stress levels, increase blood circulation and flushes off toxins from your body and refreshes your mind.
· Massage Spa: This type of spa uses aromatherapy oils and creams in massaging the body. Massage is done by a professional who knows the exact location where it has to be rubbed in a circular motion to relieve pain, tension and this increases blood circulation and also helps in relaxation of the body and the mind.

· Hotel/Resort Spa: This is a type of spa owned by a hotel that provides lodging and boarding facilities in a beautiful location where people can enjoy nature as well as take up these spa treatments which will be a better type of relaxation than the others.

· Destination Spa: This type of spa usually conducts a week long program to guide you towards good health habits and help them inculcate in your daily life. This is more of a training session for fitness and wellbeing of both body and the mind.

· Health Spa: This type of spa is run by a health care professional to provide good medical care for wellbeing of the person both mentally and physically with the usage of therapies and treatments. It is mainly focussed on skin care, balanced dieting and exercise. There are exclusive programs on yoga, aerobic walks, cooking low fat food etc for encouraging good health and this helps in replenishing both your body and mind.
