Cats as Pets

Cats are categorized as social animals and an intelligent animal. They are their own masters and donot dpend much on their owners. Cats have a high sense of smelling and are not as playful as dogs . Cats donot expect their owners to take them for a stroll in the evening and they are clean and tidy by themselves. Thus cats are preferred as pets who have busy lifestyle and requires less time and attention on them.

Cats generally feed on tiny insects, worms and rodents and are characterised as carnivores with small plants and grasses included in their diet. They have strong claws for hunting and tearing the flesh of their prey.However, their favourite drink is ofcourse a bowl of milk.

It is a hard task to train cats as they usually will not obey the orders and they spend most of their time in sleeping during the day as their night vision is superior than daylight vision and are termed as nocturnal creatures.

They can be carried and handled easily as they donot weigh more than 11kgs. A normal cat weighs from 2.5kgs-7kgs.

Cats wander around themselves and are often bound to cause problems in the neighbourhood and may get knocked down by cars when wandering on the roads. They scratch with their sharp claws if irritated otherwise it is a calm and cool pet animal for itself.

To help an easy and advanced sense of navigation, cats have more number of whiskers on their face and body.

Cats are borne to several viral infections, skin disorders, kidney failures and often cancers and tumors. On an average cats' lifespan is predicted to be around 14-20 years.

Cats are very fussy and selective eaters, therefore a veteranarian recommended commercial food with all essential nutrients would be a proper balanced diet for cats.

Cats are loved by many people and are chosen as pets because of their independence and intelligence. They are self-cleaning animals which has enabled many people to make cats as their loving and loyal pets.
