Golf and Golf Accessories

Golf is a precision sport which makes use of accessories like a stick and a ball. The players are called golfers and the field of play is called a golf course. The golfers use different kinds of sticks or golf clubs to strike the balls and send them flying or rolling into each of the holes dotting the golf course. The trick is to attempt a hit using the least number of strokes. The playing area or the golf course of a place does not have to be a standardized one. Each course can have its unique design and the number of holes can vary from 9 to 18.

Origin:

While some historians believe the origin of golf to be from the Roman game of Paganica, there are others who believe golf has a Chinese origin. There is yet another group which traces it back to England and France where two similar such sports were played. There are also handfuls who believe golf came from a Persian game called Chaugán. However, the most accepted account is that the game descended from a similar shepherd game which was popular in Scotland sometime around the 12th century.

· Team play

Playing the game of golf requires a good understanding of the game and requires the right skills. Even though the golf accessories play a major role in shaping up one’s performance, it is after all the experience and the expertise of the player that creates a winner in the field.
