Subhash Chandra Bose – His mysterious disappearance

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was one of the greatest leaders of the freedom struggle in India. He was the supreme commander of the Azad Hind Fauj. He was also the General of the Imperial Japanese Army Tsunamasa Shedei. During the World War II it is said that when Japan was facing heavy losses following the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on the 6th of August 1945 and Nagasaki on the 9th of August 1945. Japan surrendered to the allied forces following the bombings on the 15th of August 1945 thus ending the World War II.

These three dates are important to be noted when we talk about the disappearance of Subhash Chandra Bose. There are reports that suggest that he was killed in an air crash in Taiwan on the 17th of August 1945 while flying to Tokyo. Some other reports suggest that Japan had staged the report of the crash to help Subhash Bose escape to USSR. There are a lot of disputes regarding the disappearance of Netaji Subhash Bose. We don’t know whether he is still alive. He must have now succumbed to old age if he were alive. However, his death remains a mystery. The Government of India had set up several commissions to investigate his disappearance but all have failed in bringing out the right result. The Shah Nawaz Committee, The GD Khosla Commitee and the Justice Mukherjee Commission had posted different reports about Subhash Bose’s disappearance.

The death of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose still remains an unsolved political mystery. But in case the mystery has been solved, the documents have been kept classified probably to avoid a major political warfare between a few nations including India.

Netaji was playing a major role in amassing a huge Indian Army to fight for the independence of India from British rule. This activity was obviously not welcome by the British Government. On one hand Mahatma Gandhi had almost routed the British from India through his non violent Civil Disobedience Movements. If Subhash Chandra Bose would on the other hand start attacking the British with bullets and guns, the condition would have worsened. The British would have never wanted to face a double faceted revolt from Indians during their freedom struggle especially at the time of the World War II where it was playing a major role in the Allied forces.

Whatever the fact is, the death or disappearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is somehow related to the Japanese surrender to the Allied forces to end the World War II.

Missing Netaji is a Delhi based organization which is trying to dig out facts and figures which would lead to the solving of the Subhash Bose mystery. However, they have not been access to the thousands of documents already available with the Government of India marking them classified. This testifies the statement when we say that the solving of the mystery might lead to international political turmoil.

This is a matter of debate and it is solely my opinion that I have put forward.
