Health Benefits of Yoga

Yoga has been into practice for more then thousands of years, which was not given importance though been practiced remotely, but with emerging trends and complexities in human nature, stress internal and external, etc… has given a new beginning, a new dimension to yoga practices. “Yoga” consists of Ancient Theories, observations and principles about the mind and body connection which is now being proven by scientific researches.

To know the Health benefits of Yoga, it’s important to first understand “What is Yoga?”
Is it a science? Or is it a practice?. Derived from the Sanskrit root “Yujir Yogey” meaning to unite, to yoke, to join, to put together, Yoga is not about mind over body. On the other hand, Yoga is about developing harmony between them. In Yoga, you use your mind to perceive (diagnose) and guide (heal) your body. Never control, let alone force it. Yoga is a scientific practice which is a blend of “Meditation” or “Dhyana”, and “Different physical postures” or “Asana”, meaning “the art of uniting mind and body”

When we talk about health, what is the most important principle of good health, “A healthy mind is the source of healthy body”. Now to bring Yoga into picture, the first thought that strikes us how can Yoga benefit us? Yoga is a scientific technique, a sutra, a mantra of cosmic energy that is omitted from purification of mind by concentration or, “dhyana” and increased level of physical energy through different “physical postures” or “Asana’s”that helps in rejuvenating our cells, our thought process, thus benefiting our overall mental and physical health.

Yoga when practiced as “Meditation” or “Dhyana” which is the concentration power, when we meditate we control our mind from different external and internal thought processes, which stimulates our brain cells by omitting cosmic energy, which converts negative energy into positive energy and brings balance in our thought process in our mind, thus relieves our stress or depression, or anger, or anxiousness, or fear etc… state of mind, leaving the mind purified, calm and relaxed.

Yoga when practiced as “Different physical postures” or “Asana”, is particularly beneficial in fighting physical illness of different nature, when we perform different “Asana’s” it burns our excessive waste energy by bringing greater motion to our muscles, joints and organs, making them active and stronger, thus benefitting in fighting most of our commonly related physical problems like: Obesity, muscular pains, heart problems, breathing problems, stomach problems etc...

Doing yoga will give you an increased awareness of your own body; it will increase your level of comfort in your own body. This can lead to improved posture, greater self-confidence, thoughtful awareness, becoming most important root of beneficial stigma for your mental and physical health conditions.
